About Price
Price is a small country town located near the top of Gulf St. Vincent on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula.
Price was named after Florence Annie Price, the Daughter-In-Law of Governor Jervois. A causeway connects the town to a tidal inlet, Wills Creek, amongst a unique mangrove ecosystem abundant with fish and bird life. The causeway was built to access the timber wharf to load and ship stumps, grain, wool and salt.
Price is now home to Cheetham Salt, one of the largest salt harvesting and packing manufacturers in Australia.
Nearby towns that are a short drive away include Ardrossan, Arthurton, Port Clinton and Port Wakefield.
The Yorke Peninsula is famous for it's grain production, particularly crops like Wheat and Barley.
